COMMUNITY OUTREACH MEETING #1

Date: Monday, July 31, 2017
Time: 7:00 PM
Location: Weko Beach House5301 Lake St, Bridgman, MI 49106

What Does Climate Have to Do With It? An analysis of the Lake Michigan shoreline and what it means for the future of development along Michigan coastal communities.

Thank you for attending the first public meeting for the Resilient Bridgman Master Plan. Researchers from the University of Michigan and the Great Lakes Research Center at Michigan Technological University have been tracking current and projected coastal conditions across Michigan and what these conditions mean for shoreline communities. This was a chance to meet the researchers and the Resilient Bridgman project team, view the Resilient Bridgman master planning project timeline, and find out what "coastal resilience" actually means for Bridgman.

Thank you to all who attended Community Outreach Meeting #1! The presentations from guest speakers are available for viewing below:

A community master plan is only as good as the input received from people who actually live, work, recreate, and do business in that community. Please join us for a Community Open House to lay the framework for the next Bridgman Master Plan. We need your best ideas and input for the future of:

  • Housing and Community Development
  • Transportation and Civic Infrastructure
  • Business, Community, Education and Social Services
  • Outdoor Recreation and Tourism
  • Environmental Sustainability and Green Infrastructure
  • Water, Energy and Utilities
  • Arts, Events and Culture

Tell your friends and neighbors and don’t miss it!

SEEKING INTERVIEWEES!

We are encouraged by the stories we hear from within the unique and diverse Michigan communities we serve. As we prepare the Resilient Bridgman Master Plan, we'd love to hear from you about what makes Bridgman special. Why do you chose to live in, work in, or visit Bridgman? What would you like to change, and what would you like to stay the same? We are filming short interviews and clips to be shared on this website and for project-related purposes now through December 2017. Please email Kendall Gilbert at kgilbert@liaa.org if you have a story to tell and are interested in scheduling a short video interview on one of following dates:

  • Tuesday, September 12. Before or during the Community Open House, 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM
